Spring is Here! Finally ...

This is easy for us to discover in Georgia because we have weeds are popping up in the yard and our autos have a fine layer of pollen on them already. Yuk!  All that said, I thought since we've received so many new subscribers to our Newsletter that we would do some Information Overview as well as some updates and changes to our website. I know that for those who have not yet filed their tax returns (USA) that there's probably a little stress & procrastination going on out there. We've got several New Product projects in the "pipeline" and as they get closer we'll update you on them both in our weekly Newsletter as well as on our Facebook pages. Also, we're looking for a few N Scale Modelers who are interested in building some models of the Concrete Tilt-Up Wall Systems that we offer. Please send an email or reply to this Newsletter in your email In Box. Please share this Newsletter with your Friends and Fellow Modelers ... It's our only advertising!  See you in the hobby room!

Scale Model Masterpieces (formerly Thomas A Yorke Ent)

Effective July, 2009, DEBen LLC has purchased the products including but not limited to all kit master patterns, molds and drawings know also known as “Thomas Yorke Enterprises & Thomas A. Yorke Ent.” and all other entities used during this period prior to the year 2000 and formed the Scale Model Masterpieces (SMM) Craftsman Kit line. And then most recently, in March 2012, the California Freight & Details Company-HO & N (2012 & 2015) was also incorporated into Scale Model Masterpieces.

The re-introduction of the Thomas A Yorke  & Cal Freight products has been a long and arduous process. And one of the changes that we've made is whenever possible we cast our detail parts and kits in the same Labstone that we use for our Thomas Yorke structure kits! The feedback on this change has been phenomenal from customers because the Labstone castings do not require all the extra preparation that metal and resin requires and since Labstone is more cost effective than metal and resin, this saves you money! Take a look and let us know what you thing. Not heard anything about this? Ask for an OOPS! sample in your next order and we'll send you some samples (available space & weight).

Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain Products

For years Richard E. Bendever has used these versatile non-petroleum Weathering Stains to stain, finish & weather the many craftsman and scratchbuilt models he had been constructing for many, many customers. So when that once famous—now defunct—Floquil® Flo-Stain product line started going for more than a $100 a bottle on eBay in the late 1980s; Richard, now Doctor Ben’s, decided offer an Aged Driftwood Weathering Stain as an exact color match to the 1983 Floquil Driftwood stain. As this amazing Doctor Ben's product became increasingly popular all over the world, additional Weathering Stain colors were slowly created until there were enough for one Weathering Set; and then another; and then another set. It has been several years now and boy the Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain color selection has grown by leaps and bounds! CLICK HERE for more about the Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain story!

Doctor Ben's Weathering Solution Products
One day I literally fell over an idea as I was helping my brother install some custom cabinets on a commercial job site. The long story short is that although my formula has changed over the years, AND, a lot of folks have tried real hard to copy my Doctor Ben's products, but they still haven't come close. I do say that this product might not be for everyone; but the fact that we have sold tens-of-thousands of jars of Weathering Solutions leads me to think that folks like using our Doctor Ben's products--a lot! all of which are Ready-To-Use Weathering Solutions (4oz jar) for Wood, Plastic, Hydrocal©, Metal & Much More
