When I first began building Fine Scale Miniatures kits
(manu
factured by George Sellios) many years ago, the part that I enjoyed the most was the realistic weathering and scenicing. Nothing irked me more than to build a model in a brand new, pristine condition. I began looking for something more that what the FSM instructions offered. Don't get me wrong, I owe a great deal of what I learned about building models from building early Thomas A. Yorke kits, Model Masterpieces kits, Builders in Scale kits, Timberline kits; heck, there's even a thing or two to learn from building the Campbell kits.
We have four flavors of Doctor Ben's Field Trash & Forest Clutter: Natural (#4310), Clay (#4320), Soil (#4330) & Dirt (#4340). Other than the Natural, the remaining three products are "tinted" with our Doctor Ben's Weathering Pigments to give them a little more character. By the way, not to be a name dropper; but Brian Nolan & Dave Revelia both use this product to finish their award winning dioramas! So, in other words, if you want to make your models looks as bad as their models look, you have to use what Brian & Dave use!
D
octor Ben’s Forest Clutter Instructions: We recommend applying scenery materials working darkest to lightest. This is easily done with first applying an inexpensive flat latex paint a little darker than this Doctor Ben’s Forest Clutter in a small area, then sprinkling on the Forest Clutter adding twigs & odds and ends from your junk box, pushing things around a bit. Now add some dark green scenery foam, some colored sisal for tall weeds & lastly a light green scenery foam. Spray the area with an inexpensive hair spray & done!
