USPS October 2nd Rate Increase! |

You will probably remember October 2020 & 2021 when the USPS proposed to its governing Board to activate a “temporary” Rate increase to all its categories of envelope and package shipping prices. It was just announced that the USPS will once again be raising rates beginning October 2, 2022 through December 22, 2022. In the same announcement the USPS states that it will slow down services in an effort to save money. And also, the USPS is seeking Federal funding to replace half of its gas powered delivery fleet with electric vehicle. So if you wait until October it could cost you a lot more to ship your order of Doctor Ben's & Scale Model Masterpieces products!
So in my spare time, I've been able to work on the Scale Model Masterpieces website. It has been a work-in-process and the Newsletter Sign-Up for this website which is separate from this DeBenLLC & Doctor Ben’s Newsletter the SMM sign up is also is at the bottom of the www. ScaleModelMasterpieces.com Home Page. FYI The only way to get the SMM is to sign up.
Finally, we had a customer purchase an Out-of-Stock kit on the SMM sight this week and although it should no processed the purchase, it did. Hopefully this is a very rare occurrence.

Doctor Ben's How-To #4: "Hot Glue Casting" Booklet by Richard Bendever! A number of years ago I was browsing through my old Gazette magazines and I picked up the January/February 1982 issue where I found an interesting article. In this long-out-of print magazine, I found an article about casting detail part s. In that article Terry Metcalfe described how he cast parts by melting beads of a thermoplastic called “Makit and Bakit” beads in RTV molds using an ordinary kitchen oven.
