Here Comes Hurricane Laura!

  That's right; our second hurricane in just a couple of days and Laura is expected to come ashore as a Category 4 with a tidal surge of twenty feet and pushing flood waters up to thirty miles inland. We hope and pray for everyone in Laura's path heeds the advice to head for a safe shelter. We've also been watching the news about the devastating California fires. We've not heard from any west coast customers but the news we are seeing makes it look really bad. The news we saw on our first hurricane (Marco) showed it coming ashore and immediately turning west. Marco may have gone west but all the rain associated with Marco went northeast straight at Atlanta. Very strange.Laura is supposed to travel north on land to Tennessee and the east across Kentucky onto the the east coast. We'll see ... hurricanes seem to have a mind of their own
  We has tentatively planned to see Debbie's Mom after Labor Day. It's doesn't look like it is yet safe enough during these pandemic times for us to do anything but self-quarantine ourselves. Which is also good because without some helpers staying caught up on making products keeps us super busy! 
  We continue to seek out new owners for our business that we have for sale. Currently, most efforts have been word-of-mouth plus some online listings on Facebook & eBay We may run some Classified Advertising in some of the Model Hobby publications as the season starts back up in a few months. As a reminder, we are offering a Referral Fee to anyone who sends a Buyer who purchases either or both businesses.

 Tree Stumps are one of the most overlooked and taken-for-granted details in quality scale diorama. Often times a tree stump place in just the right spot is the difference between a picture of a model and fooling the viewer into believing that they are looking at the real thing!

Concrete Backdrop Kit #1 "Scratch Buildin' Series" Yorke/Scale Model Masterpieces 1:87/HO 

 You may recognize this impressive kit as part of our newest HO Scale G-Street Warehouse kit. But as we all know, pike space is limited; so why not cut it in half and make it a Backdrop Structure! Our patterns reflected the uneven and rough wooden form board impressions as well as "oozing" concrete from between them so typical of cast concrete structures.

  The castings for this backdrop kit are from our "original" Thomas A Yorke Ent. masters which reflect all of the detail of this structure and much more. This kit is composed of Labstone castings including the partial roof with parapet wall and "tar paper" roofing already cast in place - simply paint & weathering with Doctor Ben's Weathering Stains. Grandt window castings and Scale Model Masterpieces details (listed below), Cyclone Roof Vents are included along with our usual comprehensive instructions and plans plus a color photograph for a truly easy to assemble kit.
