"How-To The
ABCs of Staining Castings"
Modeling
materials have come a long way since the good ol’ days of modeling with cereal
boxes and erector sets. Now-a-days many modeling products are made of white
metal, resin, or plaster all representing brick, stone & wood. If all the
modeling components were made of the same material, figuring a way to color or
stain them would be a snap. Well, they're not and we help explain how to make
them look realistic in this recently updated How-To booklet.
We have added the complete How-To #2 booklet (updated) with color photos to our
Doctor Ben's BLOG: Tips
& Techniques. This was our second How-To Booklet that Debbie & I first
published and we have updated this booklet (2nd Edition) with more illustrative
images as well as a new cover photo of the updated Scale Model Masterpieces Practice
Wall kits. The basic techniques
of this informative booklet have a proven track record of realistic weathering
finishes and remain consistent when seeking to achieve realistic weathering
success.
Additionally,
each Doctor Ben's Weathering product line has a How-To booklet that provides
techniques that, by using them, enable both the novice and experienced modeler
to recreate the look that is described in each booklet. In the event that you
have a specific issue that you are unable to resolve, please call or send us an
email with your questions, and we will be happy to assist you in your weathering
challenge. Discussion is continued in the Doctor Ben's BLOG...
Also remember that all Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain Sets include the Doctor
Ben's How-To #2: The ABCs of Staining Castings booklet. If you already have a
How-To #2 booklet, you still may like to substitute another How-To booklet when
purchasing a Weathering Solution Set. To receive How-To #1 or How-To #3 as a
substitute for the #2 booklet already in the Weathering Stain just be sure to
make a note of this change to your order in the 'Comments' section (bottom of
the Checkout page) in your www.DEBENLLC.com Shopping Cart.
Finally, another addition that we have added to the "Weathering Stain Sets" it
to include (Limited Time) one of our brand new
Scale Model Masterpieces Detail products in the set sort of like a Cracker Jack
box, only you get to know the prize: a Junk Pile to practice on. Since there are
four (4) Weathering Stain Sets, for a limited time we will include SMM5501 in
Stain Set #1; SMM5502 in
Stain Set #2; SMM5503 in
Stain Set #3; & SMM5504 in
Stain Set #4! Each of these Junk Piles has a value of $4.89 to $5.89 and by the
way, this offer is NOT available in our Ebay Store.
