Individual Stains
The Doctor Ben's Weathering Stains are package in 4 ounce wide-mouth, resealable jars with lids that easily screw on and off just in case you knock it over and you don't end up with your Weathering Stain all over the workbench. At right is the Doctor Ben's How-To #2 "The ABCs of Staining Castings booklet. We wrote this booklet years ago when we first purchased the Thomas A. Yorke Enterprises Structure kit line because at the time there wasn't a lot around that aided modelers in staining & weathering the various castings. One thing that we missed out on including in this booklet is staining and weathering wood---duh!
It looks
like we'll need to write another How-To booklet: All About Modeling
Wood. In the meantime, here is a quick and dirty three step process
for applying Doctor Ben's Weathering Stains to wood. Step 1:
Remove any fuzz from the wood with steel wool and for a rustic look,
drag a Doctor Ben's Fine Scale Nail Hole Tool (#1492) sideways the
direction of the grain to give the wood more character.
