Here We Grow Again!

Faded Slate Gray Weathering Stain

In case you missed it in the Newsletter a few weeks ago, we mentioned that it's been a while since we have added a new Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain. At that time we introduced the "Timberline Green" (#1065) as  our newest flavor with a medium-dark musk and a hint of dense hardwood forest which is just perfect for that logging camp house and cook house application. If you've not figured out already what we have planned for this color, we're working on the long out-of-production HO & O scale Logging Camp Houses and Cook House Camp facilities.
So our very latest Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain is Faded Slate Gray" (#1064) darker than the Worn Concrete (#1095) but not so dark that it has a nice faded look for those slate roof shingles.

This product works best in conjunction with other Doctor Ben's Weathering Products as well as competitor products. We recommend trying Realistic Rust on top of Instant Age and vise versa. As with all of our products, for the ultimate realism, apply turning your object upside down allowing gravity to pull the residue to the top of the protrusions. This way when you turn it right side up, the residue is not DBZ1097 - Doctor Ben's Weathering Stainrunning down towards the bottom of the models and the effect looks just like real life.

We are also including Faded Slate Gray Weathering Stain in our Doctor Ben's Weathering Stain Set #3 (DBZ1079). Now you have two choices of adding Faded Slate Gray to your hobby color pallet!

We expect to be adding yet another color to our family in the next few weeks and we are always interested in adding even more colors as time and space permits. If you have something specific in mind, please send us a Messagege and we'll add it to our want list so that you may add it to your Wish List!

Anniversary Celebration: Free Shipping Rubbles Depot Kit

by Scale Model Masterpieces/Thomas A. Yorke Enterprises inHO & O Scales

After 6 years it was Time for a Change!

As we mention in our last October Newsletter & on our website Blog, *big* changes for the HO & O scale Rubbles Depot kits have finally happened!

The rusty brown corrugated metal roof is on, the tower is glued in place and the windows & doors are in-WHEW! All Spring we've been working fast and furious to fill our website & Ebay & eCrater Store orders for the Doctor Ben's & Scale Model Masterpieces kits & details-and now Summer is finally upon us!

Some of the changes have been the transition back to a rusty steel corrugated (SEE right & above). And, a "significant" reduction in price (SEE website).

We also offer a bunch of "Options' for you to choose to add such as the Doctor Ben's Solutions and/or Stains listed and used in the Instructions for building this kit. Also available is optional roofing types for those would would like something other than the corrugated metal. And, not only does this Anniversary kit come with a "ton" of Detail Castings, you have the Option to ADD one or more Details Set(s) to the kit purchase. Options, options, options!

This kit includes Thomas Yorke drawings, castings from meticulously hand-carved master patterns by the master himself, Scale Lumber, Grandt Line windows, doors & roof detail, and updated construction and weathering instructions. The foot print of this fantastic model is 4" wide by 3" deep. Construction should only take a few nights especially if you follow the instructions and use Doctor Ben's products to finish the model!
