USPS Postage Increases are Back!

   If you’ve not purchased anything online that will be sent to you via the USPS, well, you will notice a significant increase in the USPS First Class AND Priority package rates. Just like this time last year the USPS is implementing a "temporary" Rate Hike October 3 through December 26, 2021. So when you go to our www.DeBenLLC.com & www.DrBens.com website Checkout, PLEASE REMEMBER that we do NOT add Handling Fees to the USPS postage calculator. Unfortunately for those customers who purchase on Ebay, Ebay charges on average 16-20 percent Seller Fees on Ebay purchases INCLUDING postage/shipping amounts that Buyers pay on purchases which is why Ebay Shipping rates can be significantly more expensive than our standard USPS rates. If these Ebay extra Fees are not added into the postage calculation, the amount needed to pay for postage will often fall significantly short.
  By the way, Ebay also adds an extra $0.30 to each sold item in addition to the Ebay Shipping Calculator doesn’t always knows the weight limit for First Class packages. When creating Combined Totals of multiple items the Ebay Calculator seems to just add each of the postage amounts for each item together. The result is often a ridiculous postage calculation. Okay, enough ranting on postage, let’s bet back to building and weathering models!
    Progress on the Scale Model Masterpieces (former Thomas Yorke Ent) website is not going as quickly as we had hoped. We now have four parties genuinely interested in this business and each of them are working one funding. One of our two high school students has been out for the past month and is tentatively returning next week. Business continues to be very steady so there's just not enough time in the week to get everything thing done. And although Debbie and I both have COVID vaccines and seasonal flu vaccines, we continue to be very cautious managing COVID precautions which both students and their parents are also very concerned about as well. We wish an upcoming Happy Columbus Day (USA) & Happy Thanksgiving (Canada). See you in the Hobby Room wearing a mask and freshly washed hands!
